Workshop Organised for the Five Year Plan

The Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan (GoP), is developing the next Five-Years Plan 2005-2010. In this context, working groups were formed for all the important sectors of the economy, in order to prepare a draft plan in their respective sectors for consideration and approval by the GoP. One such group was formed to cover Livestock, Dairy, Poultry and Fisheries.

WWF – Pakistan, in collaboration with the Marine Fisheries Dept, Government of Pakistan, is organising a one-day workshop on the Five Year Plan for the Fisheries sector. This workshop is intended to provide a forum for various stakeholders from the Fisheries sector and have them take an active part in the planning process.

The said workshop is scheduled on August 3rd, 2004 at the Wetland Centre. Approximately forty plus participants from the Marine Fisheries Dept, Government of Pakistan and Government of Sindh, representatives from various NGOs, CBOs, and academicians are expected to attend the workshop.
