WWF - Pakistan Nature Carnival
2006
Lahore–WWF
- Pakistan organised the annual
Nature Carnival on Sunday 19th of
March, 2006 at Ali Institute of
Education Ferozepur Road, Lahore.
The event featured a Nature Exhibition
by different schools of the city.
These exhibits were prepared on
various environmental themes which
were Man-Leopard Conflict, Marine
and Freshwater Turtle and Natural
Disasters etc.. Other activities
included live music, games, magic
and puppet shows, food court and
lucky draws. The prize distribution
ceremony was held at 5.30 PM. The
chief guests Mr. Muhammad Ejaz,
DCO, distributed the prizes.
This fun filled bonanza
was attended by a large number of
people, especially children who
enjoyed every event which was organised
for them. School children, dressed
up as Turtle and Common leopard
added attraction to the Carnival.
Environmental documentaries were
also shown in the carnival. Children
and adults made hand prints on a
huge cloth banner using water colours
and wrote environmental messages
on it along with their signature.
This activity was enjoyed by all.
WWF – Pakistan
has always tried to disseminate
information among the masses related
to environment and wildlife in order
to evoke people’s love for
nature and urge them to conserve
it.
The Nature Carnival was held to
create conservation and environmental
awareness in public through meaningful
fun-filled activities.
The first prize was
bagged by Sacred Heart School
The second prize was won by Musab
School and
The third prize was secured by Lahore
Grammar School (LGS) 83, Arif Jana
Road
Nature Carnival has, over the period
of time, evolved into an informative
and entertaining family event. This
year also the event is expected
attract huge crowds comprising of
school children and their families.
A part from schools, the activity
is also being represented by many
corporate concerns. Unilever, ICI
(Pakistan) and Blue Band were the
sponsors of this activity in Lahore.
