Teachers training workshop

On 19 and 20th September 2006, The Freshwater and Toxics Programmes team facilitated a local NGO Idara-e-Taleem-o- Aagahi in organizing two days teachers training workshop. Senior staff members from (FTP) have participated in training workshop on Environmental Education.

A group of 25 Govt school teachers has been trained by delivering  comprehensive  lectures on the significance of Environmental Education, Wildlife issues, Management of solid waste, Composting and Kitchen gardening. This workshop also included hands on training session to give teacher the opportunity to learn through practical session. Teachers learned the ways to communicate their message effectively to the kids. They also gained knowledge to develop interactive activity worksheet for school kids.

Moreover, WWF’s brochures, posters and printed material about environmental education were disseminated among teachers. At the end of training session teachers were awarded certificates of participation from WWF- Pakistan.
