Jawad Ahmad Becomes WWF - P's Newest Goodwill Ambassador

:Famous singer Jawad Ahmad has become WWF - Pakistan's new Goodwill Ambassador. On a visit to WWF - P Head Office, he vowed to provide support to WWF - Pakistan in raising environmental awareness.

This is the second time WWF - P has been associated with a media artist, the former one being Marina Khan, currently actively involved as WWF - Pakistan Goodwill Ambassador of the Wetland Centre, Karachi.
While sharing his views, Jawad Ahmad said, "WWF is doing a wonderful job and I want to help. It is high time we stopped taking from mother nature; we need to place progress in the right perspective. Let us give nature back what it deserves."
On the drumbeat of nature, he proposed developing a song based entirely on the theme of environmental education. He will also participate in a musical concert hosted by WWF - P to raise funds for its nature conservation issues.

Welcoming Jawad Ahmad, Director General WWF - P, Ali Hassan Habib said, "WWF - Pakistan has been working for nature conservation for the last 30 years, promoting conservation actions through education, awareness and capacity building of local people as well as professional staff. WWF cannot do it alone; to enhance public awareness we need various partners such as media and the corporate sector."
A mechanical engineer by qualification and a singer by choice, Jawad Ahmad is actively involved in social sector development issues. Apart from being one of the top emerging icons of the Pakistani music scene, Jawad is involved in the newly established education NGO, Taaleem for All, working towards improving educational standards in the country. As UNICEF's polio ambassador, he is also involved with the government's polio eradication programme.
