Ahmer Bilal Soofi

Ahmer Bilal Soofi is a lawyer and expert of International law from Pakistan. He holds an L.L.M in international law from the University of Cambridge UK and is the founding President of the Research Society of International Law and a senior partner of a reputable law firm with offices in Lahore, Islamabad and Dubai. He served as the Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights, in the caretaker government in 2013 and has been elected as Member Advisory Committee to the United Nations Human Rights Council, Geneva. He also serves on the Panel of OIC Eminent Persons.

Soofi has been associated with WWF Pakistan for over a decade, having twice served on its Board.

Khalid Mahmood

A graduate of the Rutgers University, Khalid Mehmood is the CEO of Getz Pharma (Pvt) Ltd. Khalid Mahmood likes to explore nature and has contributed to many marine and coastal protection activities. He hasalso climbed Mt Rainier and Mt Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States.

Mahmood is a scuba diving enthusiast and a dinghy sailboat sailor, also participatingregularly in races in the South Asian and the south pacific region.He is interested in and supports arts, theatre, and projects in education and health care for the underprivileged.

Iqbal Ahmed Qarshi

Iqbal Qarshi is the founder of Qarshi Dawakhana, Pakistan’s largest producers of herbal medicines in Pakistan and the nationally and internationally recognized products Jam-e-Shirin and JoharJoshanda.

Qarshi also carries outphilanthropic work to give back to society and help those in need. He also founded Qarshi Foundation in 1994.

Altaf M. Saleem has served as Minister of State, Finance Division, government of Pakistanas well as Federal Minister for Privatization in 2000.Previously he was also Chairman, Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA).

Saleem has a keen interest in the promotion of education; he is a founder governor of the National Management Foundation (NMF) and founder trustee of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). He also serves on the Board of Governors of Sandal College and has served on the Board of Governors of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture.

He is a nature conservationist, havingserved on the Board of Governors of WWF-Pakistan as a Trustee and later as President. Saleemwas alsoappointed a Trustee of WWF International.

Brig. Mukhtar Ahmed

Brig. Mukhtar Ahmed served as Military Secretary in the government of Punjab. He was also Station Commander Lahore from 1984 – 1986, and Secretary to the Chief of Army Staff before that.

Currently he ispresident of Houbara Foundation International Pakistan andFalcon Foundation International Pakistan.

Brig. Mukhtar Ahmed is Vice-president Emeritus, WWF-Pakistan as well.

Syed Babar Ali

Syed Babar Ali is an entrepreneur and industrialist responsible for the set up of many manufacturing and service companies in Pakistan.

With support of the country’s business community, Syed Babar Ali conceived and helped established Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 1986 and is the Pro-chancellor of this premier educational institution. In 1993, Ali also served Pakistan as Finance Minister.

His interest in conservation led him to establish WWF in Pakistan, and he became its founding president in 1970, an office which he held till 1996. Ali’s association with WWF International led to his becoming President of the organization, succeeding His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh in 1996.

At present Syed Babar Ali is the Vice-president Emeritus of WWF International and President Emeritus, WWF-Pakistan.
