Zero waste Pakistan

EPU has initiated a campaign titled “Zero Waste Pakistan” in collaboration with Waste Busters and City District Government, Lahore (Environment Department), sponsored by Tulip Tissues. The campaign aims at the promotion of Waste Segregation and Recycling among school children ranging from ages 8 up to 16. During the second quarter more than 60 Private and nearly 25 Government Schools have been registered. Bins have been placed in the Government Schools. The bins are being placed in schools and information brochures for the campaigns are being developed which will be distributed among students. A progress meeting was held at the WWF P Head Office, Lahore on May 20th which was attended by teachers and students from some of the leading private schools taking active part in the campaign. Progress was reviewed for the first six months of the campaign followed by distribution of appreciation certificates to active schools.
