Activities of Barclays Bank
To maintain our commitment of contributing towards a sustainable
environment, similar to last year Barclays Pakistan will be
participating in the World Earth Hour 2010. Barclays has a total of 26
sites in Pakistan, (comprising 15 branches, 10 offices and 1
warehouse) and we are pleased to announce that all 26 locations will
be participating in the event with the support of our colleagues
across the country. For one hour starting 8:30 pm on Saturday, the
27th of March, all main lights will be switched off except for the
emergency lights and security devices.
Action Plan:
1) On 24th March 2010, a teaser email will be sent out to all Barclays
Pakistan colleagues. The message will be drafted in a manner that it
creates maximum excitement and anticipation.
2) On 26th March 2010, a detailed email will be circulated asking
colleagues to pledge their support. Since World Earth Hour this year
is falling on a Saturday, colleagues will be ncouraged to participate
by switching off the lights for an hour at home. Also, we will request
them to encourage other family members and friends to participate and
pass around the message.
3) On 27th March, 2010, activity reminder email will be sent to all
users in the morning.
In addition, Earth Hour 2010 information and details will also be
uploaded on the local Barclays intranet.
