Nature Carnival

The word "Carnival" takes us back to a remembered fantasy of a golden land, a time of discovery and chaos and with a light breeze of fresh spring flowers.
Have you ever wondered what impact your everyday activities have on your environment, where you breathe, laugh and play around? If not, then now is the time!
The Nature Carnival is a chance for you to get some great tips and participate in activities that will help you green your behavior. We are banking on your support!
In keeping with the mood and festivity of ' Carnivals', WWF Nature Carnival has lots of fun activities such as a colorful funfair, lucky draws, face painting, entertaining puppet shows and specially created games which have been designed to educate and create awareness on environmental issues. At WWF-Pakistan, we think that it is important to educate and involve children in our conservation projects.

A nature exhibition, games, competitions, and much more, all add up to a fun day out for the whole family at WWF - P's Nature Carnivals, held in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi each year.

Nature Carnival helps us to communicate with children and educate them about the significance of nature conservation. It also helps to generate funds for WWF's conservation projects.

  Nature Exhibition

Schools play a key role in the success of the carnivals. They can participate by creating three-dimensional environmental displays on different topics.
By getting involved, children have the chance to learn more about the environment while they have fun designing and making displays.
Models are developed around the following environmental themes:

" Fauna of Pakistan Class 1 and Class 2
" Green Turtle and its habitat Class 3 and Class 4
" Solid Waste Management Class 5 and Class 6
" Juniper Forests of Pakistan Class 7 and Class 8
" Freshwater Management Class 9 and Class 10

The best three exhibits in each of the five categories are awarded shields, and trophies are given for the best overall stall presentation.

Prizes

A panel of three judges evaluates each stall, taking into account the age of the exhibitors. There are two separate evaluations. The first evaluation judges only the exhibits, with a second evaluation to consider the entire stall. Quality of work as well as presentation decide the winner. Shields are awarded to the three best exhibits in each of the five categories and trophies for best overall stall presentation are also distributed.

Fun Fair

Exhibiting creativity! The challenge for school children is to make their stalls interesting and attractive for people attending the Carnival. They can do this by including activities such as face painting, selling snacks, or organising games, as well as making eye catching environmental displays.

Lucky Draw

Lucky draws are held at regular intervals.

Puppet Show

Entertaining puppet shows on environmental themes are performed all day, providing proof that the best way to educate is to combine recreation with learning.

Express Yourself

This gives kids the opportunity to voice their feelings and views about our animal kingdom. Called 'Express Yourself' this event may include anything from a poetry recitation to a brief debate or 'Sing Along' to a live orchestra. Kids can express themselves any way they like! The only requirement is that the theme for all the 'Express Yourself' activities must revolve around animals or environment conservation issues.
The best debate or poem selected by the judges is published in the next edition of Spellathon. It's not only a confidence boosting activity, but also a great learning experience.

Customised Games

WWF develops unique interactive games for visitors at the carnival. Each fun-filled activity carries an environmental message so that children learn through action.

one QuestionOne Prize

Quiz time! Throughout the day, a professional compere conducts a quiz called 'One question One prize'. Every child who gives a correct answe, gets a prize. All the questions are based on environment related issues.
