The emphasis of the Division is on integrating environmental education training modules within the existing curriculum and emphasising how valuable nature study projects are in improving students' perception of environmental issues. Even where environment and conservation concepts have already been integrated into the school curriculum, learning is still restricted to textbooks and examinations. WWF- P aims to increase the capacity of teachers so they can enrich the content and quality of teaching about the environment. The objectives of environmental education are:
Building the capacity of teachers so they are able to enrich the quality of teaching about the environment and related subjects.
Motivating teachers to use appropriate resource material (teaching aids) in classrooms.
Familiarizing teachers with methodologies for conducting outdoor environmental activities and encouraging them to use nature as a teaching laboratory.
Promoting skills, attitudes and motivation necessary to develop environment related projects to be undertaken by students.
