Root Causes of Biodiversity Loss in the Mangrove Ecosystem

After assessing the causes of biodiversity loss in its first phase, the project has already entered its second phase. This phase is called the Action to Analysis phase and is being integrated into the ecoregion planning process, which is being further strengthened by developing a case study for the GREEN Portfolio.

The first phase of the project assessed the health of the mangrove ecosystem, and investigated the socio-economic causes of its degradation in Pakistan, taking into account national and international factors. In its second phase, the project is concentrating on the dissemination of the findings of this research study with the participation of foremost stakeholders in the formulation of mutually agreed actions for the sustainable use of the mangrove ecosystem.
