WWF - Pakistan Green School Certification:
WWF - Pakistan has launched a Green School Certification model with the objective to engage the students and teachers in a structured Annual Awareness Programme to foster sense of individual responsibility and accountability in future generation of Pakistan towards nature conservation. The Green School after completing the full Green Year will be Awarded WWF - Pakistan’s accreditation of a “GREEN SCHOOL”.

The Green School Programme will play an important role in ensuring the future sustainability of environmental resources of Pakistan by bringing a positive change in the attitude of Pakistan’s young people and will help to promote a more mature environmentally conscious generation.
Vision:
The Programme is planned for the whole year to give students regular insight into the eco dynamics and the over all environmental challenges faced at global and regional level, to broaden student’s scope as a responsible custodian of valuable natural resources and to consequently inculcate civic responsibility in them.”
The objectives of the Programme are to:
Enable the students to generate an insight into the eco dynamics and the over all challenges to the ecosystem
Broaden students scope as a responsible custodian of valuable natural resources
Inculcate and foster civic responsibility in students
Give opportunity to students to become official Ambassador of WWF - Pakistan and solicit support of their parents and families membership for conservation of natural resources of Pakistan
Develop a sense of responsibility of reducing our ecological footprint
Inculcate a habit of giving
The program would be flexible enough to be applicable to all school systems under the English Medium curriculum. The proposed plan will include students from all age groups at primary, secondary and higher secondary level.
Every year the student will be undergo different set of environmental activities enabling them to change their mindset to a caring, eco friendly and a responsible citizen.
In order to be part of Green School Programme the school will enter into an agreement for at least one year period with WWF - Pakistan and will ensure that all the students will participate in the proposed plan to be eligible to get a Green School Certification by WWF - Pakistan.
The registration fee to the Green School Programme is Rs.85 per month by each student. The partner school will include Rs.85 to its regular fee structure and transfer the funds to WWF - Pakistan account on an agreed date.
The additional income by adding Rs.85 per month will be exempted from the Annual Income Tax liability of Green School. Since the activities plan has been designed and aimed at different age groups of students in a school to gradually improve their understanding about our environment, it will be prudent that school management encourage parents and teachers to actively involved in this campaign with WWF - Pakistan
The school will have to renew the Green School certification every Year. The schools will also have the flexibility of signing the agreement for three years.
