Supporting Activities

Advisory forums for Snow Leopard conservation
These fora consist of stakeholders, partners and are helpful in guiding the project in its research, monitoring, education and community incentive programmes.

Memorandum of Understanding
Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) for the conservation of Snow leopards have been signed with the NWFP Wildlife Department and Agha Khan Rural support program (AKRSP), Chitral. These provide an opportunity to the project and the partners to work closely for Snow leopard conservation.

Guard Dog Pilot program
The introduction of trained guard dogs for guarding livestock against the depredation threats of Snow leopards is being considered and will be done when feasible.

Livestock Insurance Scheme
A live stock insurance scheme is being launched that shall provide more security to farmers against depredation attacks.

Socio Economic Survey
To ascertain the socio economic condition of SLP’s demo site at Kuju ,Chitra,l the project has undertaken a detailed socio economic survey.
