Importance of Wildlife of Northern Areas

Wildlife is an important component of the ecosystem and has contributed a great deal to the existence and development of early mankind, and is still beneficial to it. However, during economic development and utilization of natural resources humans must realize that natural resources in any biological system are limited and can be depleted quickly if care is not exercised. For millennia wildlife population was regulated through natural checks and balances. As human beings’ hunting abilities improved, they gradually became a formidable predator and have been responsible for the extinction of many wild animals. This has necessitated the management of wildlife on scientific basis in order to save wildlife and also enable humans to continue to benefit from it. These benefits may be both aesthetic and economic. Therefore efforts are being made to preserve the remaining wildlife and prevent its further depletion.
