Birir Valley Coniferous Forests

Situated in the NWFP, the Birir Valley is a representative of an Alpine Dry Steppe ecosystem. Known locally as the Deodar Chilghoza Oak Forest, it has the potential for sustainable chilghoza harvesting. A study will establish the status of this forest with the aim of linking it with chilghoza forest conservation initiatives in the Suleiman Range.
