Jhangar Scrub Forest

The scrub forest in Jhangar Valley is an ecologically rich representative of an Arid Sub-Tropical Forest ecosystem. Community designation of protected areas within the locally owned forest is proving to be a successful conservation strategy.

This approach is being broadened to include rehabilitation of the designated protected areas, strengthening the local organisations to undertake natural resource management and extension of an environmental education programme to further increase the awareness of the local communities. For
