- WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting
Awards
The Pakistan
Environmental Reporting Award (PERA)
scheme was jointly launched by ACCA
and WWF (the conservation organisation)
in May 2002. The Awards aim to identify
and acknowledge innovative efforts
made by organisations both in the
corporate and public sector to report
on the environmental impact of their
activities.
The ACCA - WWF Pakistan Environmental
Reporting Awards 2002 Ceremony was
held on 31 March 2003. Mr Yawar
Irfan Khan, the President of the
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
gave the inaugural speech. He commended
the initiative taken by ACCA-WWF
"aimed at educating the industry
to keep their production processes
in conformity with the ecological
interests of the society".
The Award for Best Environmental
Report was given to ICI Pakistan
Limited.
