Programme for Environmental Research and Training (PERT)

WWF - Pakistan and LEAD Pakistan enjoy a long history of collaboration in promoting sustainable development. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ,which they signed in February 2001, agrees to the latest joint undertaking of the Programme for Environmental Research and Training (PERT) designed to focus on the environmental needs of the industry in the country. WWF - Pakistan is widely reputed for its project work, research and information disemination aimed at the preservatiobn of the Earth's natural resources. LEAD Pakistan is a premier training, research and capacity building organisation specialising in case study based training in sustainable development issues.
PERT, funded by Royal Netherlands Embassy, aims to provide strategically selected groups from all over the country with multi-disciplinary training in how to implement environmental laws and standards. The groups targeted include business, industry, government agencies, NGO's, the judiciary, the media and the donor agencies. PERT also aims to provide a research baseline platform for national and multinational organisations amid civic and environmental protection agencies.
