WHY WWF-PAKISTAN RUNS SPELLATHON?
Spellathon is inculcating reading habit among students of grade 1 to 8 and is making them aware about the natural resources and the local priority species. WWF's team provides stories to the students, which touches upon the environmental issues of Pakistan. Towards the end, the stories include lesson for the students and ways they could help save the environment. A spelling competition is also held based on the storybook. This way, students are able to polish their reading and writing skills while raising their environmental awareness. The programme has also been able to create an impact on the students by encouraging healthy competition and fostering new ways of environmental conservation.
