"...no one should disturb the jumping spider on my desk....", said Richard as he left his desk with document and paper piles. His deep love and sensitivity for nature permeated every moment of his life. His generosity in helping young professionals build their capability and skills meant that there are a large number of professionals in Pakistan who feel a personal bond and gratitude for Richard. It was a lucky day for WWF-Pakistan when Richard was requested to join the organization for a few months contract around 1998, and ended up staying for around 15 years, enabling a phenomenal transition both for the organization and nature conservation in Pakistan. Conservation successes for population increases of the Indus River Dolphin, Punjab Urial and Markhor are examples where Richard had a key role to play. Richard's spirit lives on amongst us!
